Weight Loss Chronicles Continued

Posted on April 8, 2008 - Filed Under Aahz | 1 Comment

The bad news - Somehow between New Year’s Eve and Easter I managed to balloon up to 253 pounds.

The good news - Somehow I managed to drop back to 238 pounds in a matter of 10 days.

The worse news - That still just puts me at my “starting” weight of 38 pounds overweight.

Luckily, the market place has stepped in and provided a possible solution. You’ve probably heard that Subway is having a footlong sandwich sale - any footlong for $5.00. I had considered…

Results Of The (Not So) Great Diet Pill Experiment

Part of the Relacore Experiment Series - Previous in series

Just over a month ago I wrote about starting a diet pill experiment to test the efficacy of Relacore. As I wrote in the original post-

I’m NOT a fan of pills. Americans are way to dependent on their “medicines” and I’ve been adamantly opposed to taking all drugs (legal and otherwise) most of my life. It’s only been in the last few years that I’ve even been willing to…

Part of the Relacore Experiment Series -         Next in series

One of my long term goals is to get down to about 200 pounds. I’ve actually dropped 10-15 with only minor adjustments (not eating before bed, moving around more throughout the day, getting good sleep), but seem to be stuck between 235 & 240 pounds. Sure, I still haven’t managed to activate the gym membership and start the actual exercise routine, and I’m still far from eating healthy,…

Turkey Day Not Good For Long Term Goals

Today’s “feast” was the first holiday in my life when I was actually concerned about my weight. I think I held up pretty well. I avoided the appetizers other than a few pickles and some raw broccoli. I skipped out before the pie was served. And I managed to take relatively moderate portions of everything else available. Still manage to have both turkey and ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing and green bean casserole. It didn’t look like too much sitting on…

As Easy As Fallin’ Off A Bike

Z’s little brother G isn’t my son, but his father has never been in his life, so I fill the role on occasion. Arriving at X’s exceedingly early for Thanksgiving dinner today left G and I stranded alone downstairs with the beautiful California sun shining outside, so I decided it was time to retry his bicycle. Z was more interested in helping her Mom prep dinner then getting some exercise and sunshine, so it was just me and him.

It’s apparently…

Tech Assistance With Goal Setting

I’ve been working with Z on goal setting of late and she’s decided that she wants to lose 23 pounds to get down to the suggested weight for her age and height. Her timing couldn’t be better when it comes to ways that I can use my truest obsession, the ‘net, to help her out. Just a couple of weeks ago a great new site called Fotofix opened its doors. They offer average folx like us the opportunity to take…
