Aahz Takes 5th (sort of) At Palm Disc Golf Tournament

Posted on October 31, 2007 - Filed Under Fatherhood | Leave a Comment

This past weekend Z and I played in the fourth Palm Disc Golf Tournament in Milpitas. This tourney is a little bit different than a standard PDGA sanctioned tournament in that it’s a “target” course instead of a “basket” course. Since the course was created in and around an office complex there are no hole baskets available and instead the “holes” include such things as ‘land on the bench/sewer grate/etc’ or ‘hit the light post/tree/fire hydrant/door/etc’. They actually ran two courses…

Sometimes You Just Need A Little Break

Z and I are dedicating ourselves to focus more on experiences than consumer goods, and the plan is to do that through weekend mini-trips. I’ve written about this innovative UK-based travel agency before, focusing on their beach holidays and their great deals on flights to Canada & Alaska.

Belated Weekend Report, pt 2 - Disc Golf

Posted on October 8, 2007 - Filed Under Fatherhood | Leave a Comment

I opened part one of this weekend’s report with the statement that I was physically unable to write this earlier. Then I never really pointed out why. Well, here’s your answer…

Emboldened by our successful french toast endeavor, Z and I headed up to Hellyer Park in San Jose to play our first round of disc golf with her new discs. Last weekend, before we headed to the hospital we stopped and picked up some specific discs for Z to train…

Belated Weekend Report, pt 1 - Cooking

Posted on October 8, 2007 - Filed Under Fatherhood | Leave a Comment

It’s taken me an extra day or so to write up my usual weekend report because I was simply physically unable to write it earlier. For some reason Z was out of school on Friday - despite progress reports just coming out the teachers apparently needed an entire day off school to “complete paperwork” and “grade papers”. So I was able to pick her up Thursday evening instead of Friday.

Z was scheduled to bring the snack to her Girl Scout…

Bouncing Into Business For Yourself

Posted on September 24, 2007 - Filed Under Business, Earning Offline | Leave a Comment

As y’all know I’m always on the lookout for ways to increase revenue both online and off. I’m also always looking to find ways to spend more quality time with my daughter. Well, this weekend a perfect combination of the two things came to my attention - Inflatable Bouncers! These things are everywhere, but still in tremendous demand. Whether it’s for birthday parties, family reunions, school events, or just a day of fun, every kid loves a bounce house, and Z…
