Google Adsense and SEO Experiment Concludes

Posted on November 3, 2008 - Filed Under Blogging, Earning Online, SEO, Technology | Leave a Comment

Hello again :) Did you miss me?

If any of y’all have wondered where I’ve been, I’ve been around, just keeping my paws off the site in order to see what would happen.  Specifically, I was curious how my complete absence for a month would effect such things as my standings in Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs) and my Google Adsense revenue.  Results were both positive and a bit distressing, but I’ll get to my reaction to them in a few moments.

Traffic…

One Decade Of Google

Posted on September 7, 2008 - Filed Under Technology | 5 Comments

It suddenly occured to me the other day that, as of today, Google has been a round for a full decade! Happy Birthday Google!!!

Despite the cliche, Google actually was started in a garage just a handful of miles from my home.  Today, Larry Page and Sergey Brin are billionaires who single-handedly (double-handedly?) made the internet accessible to millions (if not billions) of technophobes the world over.

As I ponder a decade of Google I both think it can’t be that young…

Windows Vista Equals Pain Free Computing

Posted on July 10, 2008 - Filed Under Technology | 5 Comments

As mentioned earlier this afternoon I spent most of the evening installing Windows Vista and playing around with the new operating system. Having read and heard all of the compatibility horror stories when Vista was first introduced last year I must admit I’ve been avoiding the upgrade. Choosing Your Chimes

I’ve written before about my growing nostalgia for classic clocks in general and Howard Miller grandfather clocks specifically. But it was recently brought to my attention (by this blog post) that I’ve failed to discuss one of the most important details when choosing a grandfather clock: the chimes. One of the most pleasing aspects of owning a fine clock is hearing the chimes sound out each hour. But, as in everything, different people have different tastes, so choosing which chime your…

Deal Locker - Online Couponing 2.0

Posted on November 1, 2007 - Filed Under Shopping | Leave a Comment

Another online coupon site came to my attention recently. Deal Locker is a Deals and coupon blog that offers roughly half a dozen online coupons every day. I was seeking some Enterprise Rent-A-Car coupon codes for an upcoming trip and found some great deals at Deal Locker.

One of the great things about this site is that it’s adapting Web 2.0 sensibilities into the world of couponing. Every coupon they list has a pair of buttons (’Yes’ and ‘No”) where users indicate whether…

Social Networking Comes To Search

Posted on September 26, 2007 - Filed Under Technology | Leave a Comment

You should really click here to try sproose today. It’s the latest blended social networking site devoted to harnessing the power of the millions of opinionated folx who browse the web. Essentially, Sproose is a search engine. You type in a word or phrase and it returns what it feels is the most relevant of results. But Sproose is really so much more than that.

First off, it’s a search aggregator, drawing the top results from such well known search engines as…
