Ron Paul, Pennsylvania and The Free State Project
Posted on April 24, 2008 - Filed Under Living Free, Vote 2008 | Leave a Comment
On Tuesday nearly 130,000 people voted for Dr. Ron Paul in the Pennsylvania Presidential Primary. That was 16% of the Republicans voting in the primary, and approximately 1.5% of the registered voters in the state. The reasons Paul’s results were so high (or so low) have been analyzed all over the media and blogosphere over the last couple of days, so I will leave that to them. I’m too busy looking for a way to actually win freedom to worry…

Ron Paul Is Still Running For President
Posted on April 14, 2008 - Filed Under Vote 2008 | 1 Comment
All right, I suppose it’s more like he’s “walking for President”, but regardless he’s still technically in the race.
I have to make that statement at least once a week in response to someone commenting on the Ron Paul bumper sticker I still proudly display on Rover’s tailgate.
But today was a bit of a special day, because when I visited Subway for my mid-day meal I was handed the bill pictured here in my change. In case you can’t read the…

Ron Paul Goes To The Zoo

I’m not much for posting videos on my blogs (I visit blogs to read, not watch), but this one was just too catchy and too clever for me to let slide by without sharing.
The songwriter actually came up with the music and lyrics, then posted them to YouTube with a call for an animator. Obviously, he found one. Not only is the song catchy as hell, but I think the animation’s rather brilliant as well. I’d suggest watching it all the…

Applied Anarchy - Voting As Self-Defense

Part of the Applied Anarchy 2008 Series - Previous in series Next in series
There’s a good portion of anarchists, agorists, libertarians, rebels, and general freedom lovers who believe that voting is not only pointless, but also immoral, unethical, or even anti-thetical to a belief in freedom. The argument generally goes something along the lines of voting “participating in” or “supporting” the corrupt government system. Well, I’ve been an anarchist for the majority of my life and I’ve voted…

Dr. Ron Paul Disappoints In New Hamphire Primary
Posted on January 9, 2008 - Filed Under Vote 2008 | Leave a Comment
Well, it seems like Dr. Ron Paul came in a fairly solid 5th in the New Hampshire Republican Presidential Primary. I’ve got to admit I’m very disappointed. I didn’t necessarily expect him to win it, but only scoring 8% of the votes in the Live Free Or Die state does not bode well for his chances around the country.
New Hampshire is arguably the most freedom oriented state in the union and has a lot of political activism. As if that…

Let The Games Begin! Iowa Caucus 85%-97% In
Posted on January 3, 2008 - Filed Under Vote 2008 | Leave a Comment
The first actual contest in the Presidential race has just about concluded. The Republican results are rather predictable with 85% of precincts reporting-
- Mike Huckabee - 34%
- Mitt Romney - 25%
- Fred Thompson -14%
- John McCain - 13%
- Ron Paul - 10%
- Rudy Giuliani - 4%
- Duncan Hunter - 0%
The Democratic side, however, was shocking (at least to me) with 97% of precincts reporting-
- Barack Obama - 38%
- John Edwards - 30%
- Hillary Clinton - 29%
- Richardson - 2%
- Joe Biden - 1%
- Chris Dodd - 0%
- Mike Gravel -0%
- Dennis Kucinich - 0%
There’s still…
