Many politicians are in the habit of laying it down as a self-evident proposition that no people ought to be free till they are fit to use their freedom. The maxim is worthy of the fool in the old story who resolved not to go into the water till he had learned to swim. »» Thomas Macaulay

Posted on December 12, 2007 - Filed Under Technology | 2 Comments

Sometimes you’re just looking for information. At those times a general purpose search engine is perfect. But sometimes you’re looking for people and that’s where the “big boys” of search all fall apart. What we need is a completely searchable online Who’s Who for whatever it is that interests us. Luckily, we already have one in Spock. I’ve written about Spock before, and have used it a few dozen times since then. Spock’s not only helped me learn more about…

Part of the Discovering Discovery Kingdom Series - Previous in series

We woke up the next morning and had our breakfast at Joy Of Eating. Joy Of Eating is a restaurant with country style breakfast. While we were waiting, I drew a picture on the back of the kid’s menu. Aahz got french toast with their famous bread. I got berry pancakes. We both agree that their food was delicious. We got back in Rover (our car) and…

Part of the Discovering Discovery Kingdom Series -         Next in series

So I’ve been lagging pretty heavy on getting the Six Flags Discovery Kingdom weekend report written (Z and I went on the 20th & 21st of October), so she finally got fed up and wrote the darn report herself! So, here it is, the first ever guest blogger on Philaahzophy…

Hong Kong Phooey, The number one super dog. We were sitting in Rover (our car) listening to music.…

I’ve been struggling with Z over the idea of long term goals and the concept that one must sacrifice some things in order to achieve greater things. Disc Golf was supposed to be a lesson in this but the girl simply refuses to practice and when she does so there’s not much I can do about it but watch her go through the motions, pretending. Frankly I can barely stand the stress and I end up blowing up at her…
