Irritated With Apple, Again

Posted on January 20, 2008 - Filed Under Technology | Leave a Comment

Remember my $20 iPod? Well, it started giving me transfer issues, so I finally just gave into the addiction and bought a working used 5.5G. Unfortunately, the transfer cord didn’t last very long as y’all can see in the picture to the right. I don’t understand why Apple can’t just use ordinary Cat 5 cable instead of requiring every iPod user buy a proprietary (read: expensive) cable.

Y’all know I love road trippin’, right? Well, Trusted Tours and Attractions is offering an antique twist to road trips just a few miles north of me in San Francisco! They’ve got a great deal on Mr. Toad’s Antique Nighttime Car Tours of San Francisco ($40 for adults, $30 for seniors, students or military, and $20 for kids (5-12, under 5 is free)). This is the only way to discover the history of San Francisco in style. Mr Toad has…

Where Is Today’s Punk Rock?

I became politically aware as a result of punk bands like the Sex pistols and the Dead Kennedys. Obviously, that’s where I first heard the term ‘anarchy’ as well, though it was only the first step in a long road to truly understand both the term and the philosophy behind it (not to mention deprogramming myself from the state indoctrination I was receiving at the time). With the recent acquisition of my $20 iPod I’ve started listening to more music once…

Whether you’re looking for discount computers or Cheap iPods you’ve probably visited a number of online comparison and discount sites trying to find the best deal. Well, TechBargains is yet another in the growing number of sites dedicated to helping you find the best deal on the latest tech. Unfortunately, the site is exceedingly cluttered and even the “Site Guide For New Visitors” slideshow doesn’t seem to actually explain many of their features. For example, I was told they offer “Deal Alerts…

How I Got A $20 iPod

Two years ago was the first real Christmas I spent with Z. She’d only been back in my life for a few months and we were all still feeling our way through the new ‘family’, but I really wanted to make an impact and had very little concept of what to get a 9 year old girl for Christmas. I’ve never been one to follow ‘lists’ as I’m much more of the spontaneous type of gift giver than one to…

I Almost Forgot About The Memory Walk

Posted on September 12, 2007 - Filed Under Contests | Leave a Comment

With all the crap that’s been happening in my life the last few days I almost forgot about the Memory Walk for Alzheimer’s. Luckily, Carla over at My Little Tribe reminded me. But this wasn’t just any reminder, it was a Memory Walk contest reminder.

It seems that her Little Tribe will be walking in their local Memory Walk and have decided that a blog contest is a great way to generate sponsors. Brilliant idea! The best thing about this contest is that it’s…
