Halloween Haunt At California’s Great America - Media Night
Posted on October 5, 2008 - Filed Under Ride Reports | 1 Comment
The first ever Halloween Haunt at California’s Great America, was actually quite enjoyable. Low expectations helped.

Our excitement for being the first to attend Halloween Haunt, was somewhat dwarfed by the fact that we were going to Knott’s Scary Farm the following night, and Miley Cyrus’ Sweet 16 right after that. But despite our numerous negative experiences with Cedar Fair throughout the year, I’ve gotta admit, they put on a pretty good Haunt.
We started out with the Boo-fet, which was not only cleverly…

Great America will have it’s first ever Halloween Haunt this year, and since Cedar Fair now owns both Great America and Knott’s Berry Farm the same crew that runs the world’s first haunted amusement park attraction, Knott’s Scary Farm, will be designing and decorating Santa Clara County’s premiere theme park for the spooky season as well!
Wow, that reads a lot more like an ad then I expected :-\ Anywayz…
Z and I will be attending opening night of Halloween Haunt…

Yes, folx it’s that time of year again! The night is coming! The one night a year when you can show the world how you see yourself, or how you’d like the world to see you, rather than presenting yourself as you believe the world thinks you should. I’m talking about Halloween! The ultimate masquerade.
Masquerade!
Paper faces on parade . . .
Masquerade!
Hide your face,
so the world will
never find you!Masquerade!
Every face a different shade . . .
Masquerade!
Look around -
there’s another
mask behind you!

Halloween Plans Shaping Up

Despite my being abandoned last Halloween, it remains my favorite holiday. And we’re not fooling around this year as we’re starting to celebrate on October 3.
Here’s our agenda-
- Friday October 3 - Halloween Haunt (opening night) at California’s Great America
- Saturday October 4 - Halloween Haunt at Knott’s Scary Farm (aka Knott’s Berry Farm)
- Sunday October 5 - Miley Cyrus’ Sweet 16 Party at Disneyland (okay, not strictly speaking Halloweeny, but the park will have its Halloween decorations up, including the Nightmare Before Christmas…

California’s Great America Has Not-So-Great Opening
Posted on April 11, 2008 - Filed Under Ride Reports | 3 Comments
As a roller coaster junkie I was really looking forward to opening day of California’s Great America. Although not a new park (Great America has been in Santa Clara for more than 30 years now) March 16th was the first public operation day under the new name and under Cedar Fair’s watch. I’ve only been to one Cedar Fair park in the past (Cedar Point back in the 80s), but their reputation in the roller coaster community is huge. So…

Part of the Discovering Discovery Kingdom Series - Previous in series
We woke up the next morning and had our breakfast at Joy Of Eating. Joy Of Eating is a restaurant with country style breakfast. While we were waiting, I drew a picture on the back of the kid’s menu.
Aahz got french toast with their famous bread. I got berry pancakes. We both agree that their food was delicious. We got back in Rover (our car) and…
