Charter Covers Your Back To School Basics

Posted on August 28, 2008 - Filed Under Contests, Technology | Leave a Comment

Charter_laptop Ask a hundred different kids what they consider essential for life and you will surely get plenty of different answers. But I’d be willing to wager that you’d also see four things crop up time and again: television, telephone, a laptop computer, and high speed internet access. Oh yeah! And gas money if they’re old enough to drive. If they’re not, then you could probably use that gas money to cover the cost driving them around.

Well, if you’re shopping for…

Who’s Screwing Whom?

Dual confession time:

  1. I have no idea if I used “whom” correctly in the title. It sounds better to me, but if you know the rules for “whom”, please comment and let me know for future reference.
  2. Despite understanding anarchy innately at a young age I spent many, many years in liberal circles and was often swayed by their views.

Z and I have decided to cancel (or rather, postpone once again) our 2008 road trip. The plan was two weeks in the Southwest - Arizona, New Mexico, Grand Canyon, Four Corners, Meteor Crater, etc. Instead we’ll be visiting Astroland at New York’s Coney Island for a week (or so). The trip to New York is too expensive in terms of both gas and time to make it a road trip in 2008. With two full years of anticipation for this…

Road Trip Dreamin’

Posted on September 13, 2007 - Filed Under Road Trippin' | Leave a Comment

The tale of my first road trip with Z, Seven Miles From Gorda, has been getting a lot play lately - it was in the latest Postie Carnival 12 and took second place in Brat Shannon’s latest contest. This, of course, has me jonesin’ for another trip. With Rover’s mechanical issues it’s certainly not going to happen soon, but that doesn’t mean I can’t start planning.

I’m thinking it’s time to up the ante. I’m considering starting to lobby for a full two-week…
