California Republican Party Further Closes Ranks
Posted on December 17, 2007 - Filed Under Vote 2008 | Leave a Comment
Tuesday I finally got around to re-registering to vote so that I could be on the Republican rolls and support Ron Paul at the February 5th California primary. It’s a good thing I did, too, as on Thursday I received a card from the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters informing me that-
You are registered as a Nonpartisan or Decline to State voter for the February 5, 2008 Presidential Primary Election. The American Independent and Democratic parties have agreed to allow…

Aahzian Contradictions - Anti-Gun, But Pro-2nd Amendment

From the time I was around 8 or 9 until my senior year of high school I knew I wanted to join the Navy when I became an adult. You see, my father was in the Navy and I seldom saw him, so I idolized him. In fact, I even made the choice to go to a military high school as a direct result of my devotion to the armed forces. As you probably know, America isn’t the only country with an immigration “problem”. Apparently France has been struggling with an overload of immigrants for many years and I just learned of a rather strange solution they’ve come up with. By way of Spiegel Online-
New immigration minister, Brice Hortefeux, confirmed on Wednesday that the government is planning to offer incentives to more immigrants to return home voluntarily. “We must increase this measure to help voluntary return. I am very clearly committed…

FDA Quackery Continues Despite Small Progress
Posted on November 21, 2007 - Filed Under Health Care | 3 Comments
Found a fascinating article on cough medicine and kids over at the American Chronicle-
Another example of outright quackery by pharmaceutical companies has finally gathered enough steam to achieve mainstream news coverage: Cold medicines are useless, say pediatricians who petitioned the FDA to ban the marketing of such products to children. Last month, an FDA advisory panel partially agreed with the recommendation, and voted to declare that such medicines should not be used in children younger than six.
Notably, the FDA advisory…

More Financial Industry Freedom
Posted on November 16, 2007 - Filed Under Earning Offline | Leave a Comment
I couple weeks back I reviewed a company looking to hire people to hire other people in the financial industry. The main point of the post was that you, as a freedom loving individual, could regain a little more of your freedom by opting out of the financial services market yourself and, instead, work as a recruiter. Shortly thereafter I received a rather nasty email asserting that one could never “make a comparable living” as a recruiter rather than as…
