40 Years Later and We’re All Still Slaves

Posted on January 20, 2008 - Filed Under Living Free | Leave a Comment

If Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr hadn’t been shot on April 4th, 1968 while standing in front of his Memphis motel room he’d have celebrated his 79th birthday last week. Hmmm… actually he probably would have been dead from something else by age 79, but that’s not really the point. The powers that be have decreed that we should all memorialize him today. Don’t get me wrong. I’m a huge fan of Martin Luther King. The man was brilliant and…

Roughly $5 per month is all it costs to get host your blog on your own website, but people still flock to Blogger simply because it’s free. Well, Laura William’s Musings learned today exactly what “free” gets you-

Staples has been running an advertising cmpaign for some time now featuring the “Easy Button”. The whole concept is that whatever problem you’re having in your business, you just have to push the Easy Button and Staples will solve your problem for you.…

Dr. Ron Paul Disappoints In New Hamphire Primary

Posted on January 9, 2008 - Filed Under Vote 2008 | Leave a Comment

Well, it seems like Dr. Ron Paul came in a fairly solid 5th in the New Hampshire Republican Presidential Primary. I’ve got to admit I’m very disappointed. I didn’t necessarily expect him to win it, but only scoring 8% of the votes in the Live Free Or Die state does not bode well for his chances around the country.

New Hampshire is arguably the most freedom oriented state in the union and has a lot of political activism. As if that…

Are Any Agorists Actually Active?

Posted on January 6, 2008 - Filed Under Living Free | 3 Comments

A few weeks ago I came across Brad Spengler’s article Distinguishing between anarcho-capitalism and agorism. I’ve been interested in agorism for a while as its proponents claim that it is all about the actual act of living free rather than wasting time attempting to lessen the effects of government on our daily lives. This is a concept that I embrace mightily! However, I’ve yet to be able to find anyone claiming the agorist title actually sharing any way that they are…

Research Into The Amount Of Tea Tax Inspiring Boston Tea Party

Part of the Boston Tea Party Series - Previous in series

On Saturday I posted a first hand account of the Boston Tea Party written by George Hewes, an impoverished colonial cobbler and member of the Sons of Liberty. In that article I stated that it was a 3% tax on tea that inspired the famous Boston Tea Party. Sara left the following comment-

Aahz, I totally agree on the apathy of citizens about paying INTOLERABLE taxes….In my younger days,…
