A New Angle On The Whole Weight Loss Goal Thing

Posted on September 26, 2008 - Filed Under Aahz, Health Care | Leave a Comment

As a few of you have noticed I haven’t mentioned my weight loss goal of late.  That’s because I had sooooo much fun this summer that I bounced back up to 242 or so.  And well, I just haven’t found the motivation to do anything about it lately.  Until today, that is.  Because today I was forwarded the link for XFLOWSION. Frankly I can’t decide if the name sounds cool or cheesy, but then, the name’s not really the point, is it?

XFLOWSION…

Moving Forward With My Weight Loss Goals

Posted on April 24, 2008 - Filed Under Aahz, Health Care | 6 Comments

Thirteen days to my weight loss deadline and I’ve been cracking down rather successfully. Last week I reported that I’d bounced back up to 242 pounds, well I’m proud to report that I’ve not only regained my footing, but moved even further into territory that hasn’t been explored in a few years: 235 pounds! WooHoo! That’s a net weight loss of 15 pounds since last fall when I set my goal. I’m behind schedule, but feel I’ve learned a lot…

Finally, A Watch That Meets All My Needs AND Desires

As someone who has always been time obsessed I was pretty happy with myself when I went watch free a couple of years back. However, when I decided to start going to the gym before work in the mornings I realized I was going to need one again (there’s no clocks in the gym). I spent weeks trying to find one that was water resistant (it would be sitting pool side), had an easily visible face (no glasses while swimming),…

Results Of The (Not So) Great Diet Pill Experiment

Part of the Relacore Experiment Series - Previous in series

Just over a month ago I wrote about starting a diet pill experiment to test the efficacy of Relacore. As I wrote in the original post-

I’m NOT a fan of pills. Americans are way to dependent on their “medicines” and I’ve been adamantly opposed to taking all drugs (legal and otherwise) most of my life. It’s only been in the last few years that I’ve even been willing to…

Jumping On The Diet Pill Bandwagon

Part of the Relacore Experiment Series -         Next in series

One of my long term goals is to get down to about 200 pounds. I’ve actually dropped 10-15 with only minor adjustments (not eating before bed, moving around more throughout the day, getting good sleep), but seem to be stuck between 235 & 240 pounds. Sure, I still haven’t managed to activate the gym membership and start the actual exercise routine, and I’m still far from eating healthy,…

As Easy As Fallin’ Off A Bike

Posted on November 22, 2007 - Filed Under Fatherhood | Leave a Comment

Z’s little brother G isn’t my son, but his father has never been in his life, so I fill the role on occasion. Arriving at X’s exceedingly early for Thanksgiving dinner today left G and I stranded alone downstairs with the beautiful California sun shining outside, so I decided it was time to retry his bicycle. Z was more interested in helping her Mom prep dinner then getting some exercise and sunshine, so it was just me and him.

It’s apparently…
