California Republican Party Further Closes Ranks

Posted on December 17, 2007 - Filed Under Vote 2008 | Leave a Comment

Tuesday I finally got around to re-registering to vote so that I could be on the Republican rolls and support Ron Paul at the February 5th California primary. It’s a good thing I did, too, as on Thursday I received a card from the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters informing me that-

You are registered as a Nonpartisan or Decline to State voter for the February 5, 2008 Presidential Primary Election. The American Independent and Democratic parties have agreed to allow…

About three weeks ago the brakes on my ‘89 Ford Bronco (affectionately named Rover) started making noises to let me know they needed some work. I’ve had other noisy brakes in the past and figured I could make it to payday, which is the 19th - next Wednesday. I was wrong

This morning while running the kids to school the brakes started grabbing and pulling my off course. I returned home convinced that I’d need to take it in to…

Giving The Gift Of Wine - Monthly

Posted on December 2, 2007 - Filed Under Shopping | Leave a Comment

I recently received a sample package from The Gold Medal Wine Club. Inside the well designed packaging I found two bottles of wine (2005 Belvedere Chardonnay, and 2004…

Another Long Term Goal Takes A Hit

Posted on November 23, 2007 - Filed Under Ride Reports | 3 Comments

Well, the weight loss goal took a small hit as a result of Thanksgiving Turkey (and ham, and stuffing, and potatoes, etc), and another just took a hit thanks to an email I just received from Six Flags Magic Mountain-

The transformation of X into X2 is currently scheduled to begin with the closure of the ride as of December 3, 2007. X will re-open as X2 in Spring of 2007 (exact date to be announced at a later time).

Criminy! Yeah,…

Ride Report - VooDoo (Top Spin) At Discovery Kingdom

Posted on November 19, 2007 - Filed Under Ride Reports | Leave a Comment

It’s great having a kid who’s as into amusement parks as I am, but there’s no accounting for taste. She’s still young enough that she loves anything that spins her and/or puts her upside down. Me, I need speed. Luckily, Z doesn’t smoke, so I need some time away from her as well. It’s in those brief, hacking, moments in a full day at the park that she takes on rides like VooDoo. You see, VooDoo is what Six Flags…
