“Anarchists know that a long period of education must precede any great fundamental change in society, hence they do not believe in vote begging, nor political campaigns, but rather in the development of self-thinking individuals.” »» Lucy Parsons

Anyone Interested In A Ron Paul Blog Carnival?

Posted on November 10, 2007 - Filed Under Blogging, Vote 2008 | 4 Comments

I went looking for a Ron Paul Blog Carnival yesterday and was shocked that I couldn’t find one. Ron Paul is consistently amongst the top 5 searched for phrases on Technorati, and clearly much of the blogosphere has adopted him as the asvior for America, so why isn’t there a blog carnival devoted to quality articles about him and his campaign?

I did find someone interested in starting one, though. Blogcruiser at Future With Ron Paul 2008 has been considering the idea.…

Journalistic Integrity At Philaahzophy

Posted on November 8, 2007 - Filed Under Aahz, Blogging | 6 Comments

A few hours ago FSK of FSK’s Guide To Reality posted a rather long comment on my review of MyWallSt.net from last month asking far too many questions for me to address in the comment section. Apparently he’s greatly concerned about the fact that I actually get paid to write some of the things I write here. I find this strange coming from someone who also recently asked me how he could make money off the writing he does at his blog,…

Get Paid For Your Non-Sponsored Blog Posts Too!

Posted on November 7, 2007 - Filed Under Blogging, Paid To Write | 7 Comments

I’ve been talking a lot about sponsored blog posts today, but it’s not really something anyone who did a little research wouldn’t have stumbled across eventually. Most bloggers aren’t looking for ways to maximize their sponsored post revenue. Rather they want to generate money off of their non-sponsored posts. There are all the standard answers, of course: Google Adsense, Bidvertiser, text links, etc. But those are actually earning money from your website, not from your blog posts themselves. But there…

Timing Is Everything When Being Paid To Blog

Posted on November 7, 2007 - Filed Under Blogging, Paid To Write | 6 Comments

Over the last two months a larger and larger portion of my online earning has come directly from sponsored blog posts at Philaahzophy. As a result I’ve focused more and more of my attention in that direction as well. When I first started doing paid blog posts I was focused on my site’s stats (Google PageRank, Alexa, Technorati, etc). From what I read around the blogosphere I was not alone in this. But now I’ve come to realize that as…

It’s My Blog And I’ll Write What I Want To

Posted on November 6, 2007 - Filed Under Aahz, Blogging | 1 Comment

About the only feedback I’ve received thus far from my Review Philaahzophy Contest is that I need an About Me page and Philaahzophy is not very focused. Alas, I already knew both of these things. The former has been remedied with my new About Me / Usage Guide page, and the latter will not be remedied any time soon (if ever).

Philaahzophy is essentially a series of open letters to my daughter, Z. I missed out on the first 9 years of her…

Blogrush Continues To Crack Me Up

Part of the Adventures In BlogRushing Series - Previous in series         Next in series

This is my fourth post on BlogRush. I introduced y’all to it on September 16th, pulled the widget on September 18th, and laughed rather loudly at their CEO’s ranting antics on September 26th. I still receive regular email updates from them, not because I’m unable to unsubscribe, but because they never cease to amuse me.

On October 21st I received yet another email from them which included the following…
