You know what they say about opinions - everybody’s got one. Well, I’m no exception and I’m typically not very quiet about them either. A fair number (though by no means all) of the reviews here on Philaahzophy are actually sponsored by the product or service I’m reviewing, but don’t think for a second that means I’m not being honest. I’d say my reviews run about 30% to 40% negative - whether I’m being paid to write them or not…

Sears Wants You To Give Even More Of Your Money To The Military
Posted on December 1, 2008 - Filed Under Military, Shopping | 3 Comments
Apparently, Sears thinks the government isn’t sending enough of our money to the soldiers and they’re ready to do something about it with their Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry. Make sure you read that title correctly. Sears isn’t offering to send the soldiers more money. No, they’re asking that you send more of your money to soldiers and their families in the form of Sears gift cards. And they’re making it easy by setting up a web page (linked above)…

For a guy who’s not really a fan of institutions I’ve actually written quite a bit about the institution of marriage here at Philaahzophy. It seems that the men and women around me don’t share my general opinion of the ritual. And everyone knows that we’re quickly approaching the three biggest proposal days of the year: Christmas, New Year’s Eve and Valentine’s Day.
When I got married I could barely afford any ring, but had I the choice and the opportunity I…

Charter Internet Deals Getting Better And Better

Despite their monopoly status (which is enforced with the government’s guns, of course) Charter is having to try harder and harder to get people to sign up for their cable television, internet and home phone services. In fact, as the ad to the left shows, they’re currently offering a free gift card (to the business of your choice) worth up to $250 with you sign up for any of their black friday deals.
Whether you’re just looking broadband internet service ($24.99/month for…

There are three reasons to go to Las Vegas: gambling, girls, and golf. Now Royal Links Golf Course has brought two of the three together in a way no one else has with their Female Caddy Service called Par Mates. Not only are these the hottest ladies you’re likely to find on any of the dozens of Las Vegas Golf Courses, but they also know a thing or two about balls … er … golf balls that is. Not only will they…

Okay, I admit it, I totally swiped that line from the the home page at AccuratePerforating.com, but it was just too good to pass up. Of course, now y’all are wondering what the heck I was doing visiting a site called Accurate Perforating in the first place. And you’d be right to wonder. However, let me assure you that it’s nothing kinky and it’s got nothing to do with holiday stress making me want to fill my roommates and ex-wife full…

Dear Santa: I Want A Roller Coaster
Posted on November 25, 2008 - Filed Under Aahz, Shopping | Leave a Comment
It’s been about 30 years since I wrote a letter to Santa Clause, but modern technology has made everything so much easier that the practice is a bit passe, is it not? Zaira tells me that no one sends actual snail mail to the North Pole anymore. It’s either email, text message or a video. So, I decided to go for the latter. Without further adieu (or any more more details that will simply be repeated below) I offer y’all…
