Philaahzophy Posts On "Aahz"-

Subcategories: Fatherhood | Ride Reports | Road Trippin' |

Hi! I’m Aahz and this category is all about me :) It’s where I post things that don’t necessarily relate to anything else here at Philaahzophy and are (probably) not of any interest to those who don’t know me personally.

Of course, it’s also home to several sub-categories all of which may very well be of interest to complete strangers. So I suppose you’ll just have to explore for yourself…

How I Got A $20 iPod

Two years ago was the first real Christmas I spent with Z. She’d only been back in my life for a few months and we were all still feeling our way through the new ‘family’, but I really wanted to make an impact and had very little concept of what to get a 9 year old girl for Christmas. I’ve never been one to follow ‘lists’ as I’m much more of the spontaneous type of gift giver than one to…

Stopping To Spook The Flowers

Posted on October 31, 2007 - Filed Under Fatherhood | Leave a Comment

(Whaddya mean that’s not the way the old saying goes?!?)

I’ve been pretty irritable for the last few days as Halloween has been approaching. Halloween is the only holiday that I actually celebrate . Holidays have always seemed sort of arbitrary to me. But the spookiness of Halloween has always appealed to my darker side. So, it was with heavy heart that I asked Z three weeks ago if she’d mind my not dressing up for Halloween this year. She was…

Aahz Takes 5th (sort of) At Palm Disc Golf Tournament

Posted on October 31, 2007 - Filed Under Fatherhood | Leave a Comment

This past weekend Z and I played in the fourth Palm Disc Golf Tournament in Milpitas. This tourney is a little bit different than a standard PDGA sanctioned tournament in that it’s a “target” course instead of a “basket” course. Since the course was created in and around an office complex there are no hole baskets available and instead the “holes” include such things as ‘land on the bench/sewer grate/etc’ or ‘hit the light post/tree/fire hydrant/door/etc’. They actually ran two courses…

Philaahzophy Contest Update

Posted on October 30, 2007 - Filed Under Aahz, Blogging, Contests | Leave a Comment

I started the $50 Review Philaahzophy Contest a little over two weeks ago, and must say I’m not too impressed with the results thus far.? The contest has been listed at about a dozen different contest blogs, but only received a small number of entries.? This, in and of itself though, isn’t the real problem.? Rather, it’s the qualities of the reviews themselves.? I simply haven’t been impressed.

Sure, a couple of folx have spent enough time here at Philaahzophy to realize…

Fun With Photos

Posted on October 30, 2007 - Filed Under Fatherhood, Technology | Leave a Comment

Z and I have been taking a lot more photos lately in accordance with our transfer from collecting stuff to collecting memories and experiences. I’ve been uploading the photos to the web and will be sharing more of them along with future posts. But first I needed some more photo managment and manipulation software. So when the folx over at Zoombli asked for a post about Morpheus Photo-Morpher it seemed to be a perfect fit.

This is a really cool piece of software…

Complete System Failure (aka I’m Back)

Posted on October 30, 2007 - Filed Under Aahz | Leave a Comment

Wow! Had a complete system failure last week that’s taken WAY too much time to recover from. I’ve been working on little pieces here and there in order to get back online and blogging, but it’s been tough going with new obstacles appearing at every turn. I think I’ve finally got everything back in order now, though. There’s plenty of catching up to do here at Philaahzophy in all categories. So hang tight ’cause things should be moving pretty fast…
