One of the first hurdles a growing micro-business will face when trying to compete with more established companies is the ability to accept credit card payments. That’s because credit card processing requires a merchant account which are typically too expensive for the micro-business - with set-up fees, terminal lease fees, and complicated small-type ridden extended contracts that seem almost designed to intimidate the new business person. You can thank me later, because I have found the perfect solution for your small business.
Merchant Advisors offers free merchant accounts for small businesses. Choosing a merchant account is a very important decision and you need to make sure you understand everything 100% before signing on, so I’m not even going to try to give you all the details on exactly what they offer. Simply take my word for it and visit their site to see if their offerings will work for you.
For those who don’t know (or trust) me yet, here’s the highlights-
- Zero Set-Up Fee (they aren’t waiving them for a limited time, they simply don’t have them)
- No Merchant account application fees (one of the biggest stumbling blocks for micro-businesses
- No contracts (that means no long term contracts and not even a short term contract!)
- Monthly minimum to avoid fees - $25 (typically $1,000 or more)
- A low credit card processing rate of 1.59% (industry standard is 2.65 percent)
