When I was growing up my parents started their own business in our home. In a matter of weeks our kitchen was crammed with file cabinets and the dining room was full of desks. Office supplies were everywhere. Thus, when I ventured out “into the real world” I was shocked that so few of my friends had things like staplers, three hole punches, and adding machines. I mean, how, exactly, is one meant to survive without such absolute essentials? In other words, I’m an office supply junkie.
But just because I love any and all office supplies doesn’t mean I love them all equally. No, there is most definitely a pecking order of sorts. But at the top of that pecking order, the lead dog, if you will, is now and always has been the label maker.
Sure, staples, paperclips and scotch tape will hold things together just fine. And file folders, in boxes, and shelving units will keep everything organized. But in order to actually find anything, you need a label. And that means you need a label maker. But for a true office supply aficionado not just any ol’ thing that can print an adhesive label will do. No, for me it’s always been about the DYMO Labelmaker. With back to schoo lsales happening in just about every store across America for the next couple of weeks, now is the time to get your very own label maker (or upgrade your current model). Labels are truly God’s gift - they prevent fights between siblings (by clearly indicating what belongs to whom), the save money (by helping lost items find their way home), they save time (by making it oh so much simpler to find things), and so much more.
