Car Rental For $1 A Day? Now, That’s An Advantage!

Working so many hours I find myself seeking more and more interesting vacation ideas. These days my most frequent problem isn’t paying for the vacation itself, but losing the time at work (working in social services provides zero traditional benefits like sick/vacation time). This, of course, means I need to fly to places instead of drive, which leaves me stuck with either only visiting locations next to major airports, numerous taxi fees or exploring car rental options.
Sometimes the car rental agencies themselves help spur my thoughts of an interesting trip. For example, Advantage Rent-A-Car is currently offering $1/day rental fees on cars going from anywhere in the state of Florida to Chicago O’Hare International Airport. This would allow Z and I to fly to Orlando to explore the theme park capital of the world, get a great road trip in (possibly including stops at more than a dozen parks along the way) and fly home from Chicago. Total car rental fee for 5 days? $18.87 with various fees (roughly $500 cheaper than normal rates). Not bad at all.
If you’re not interested in driving that particular route, Advantage is also offering a 50% discount on most of its luxury and convertibles as well. There’s nothing like cruising the highway with the top down in a convertible.
