I first heard about pirate radio stations from my father when I was about 10 years old. The idea fascinated me even then - some guy in his garage or basement sending out signals that anyone could pick up and here. No commercials, no program directors, just a man and a microphone.
I’ve looked into the possibility of starting my own pirate station several times over the last couple of decades, but never actually gone beyond the looking. Sometimes the info was easy to find, other times neigh impossible. But now the basics are all collected in one spot for easy reference - The Wired How-To Wiki’s Set Up A Pirate Radio Station.
Man, I love the internet…
