Today, nobody sees, or wishes to see, that in our time the enslavement of the majority of men is based on money taxes, levied on land and otherwise, which are collected by government from the subjects. »» Leo Tolstoy

Frontier(s) Asks “What Are Your Borders?”

Unknown As y’all know I was on vacation last week so obviously didn’t make it down to Los Angeles for the May 9th premiere of Frontier(s). However if I hadn’t already had those major plans I would have been all over the opportunity not only because it looks like a solid flick, but also because I think it’s important for people to support the screening of unrated films in actual theaters.

Never forget that there is no law requiring a film to be rated. It is purely a market driven decision on the part of move theaters and film producers. If the market shows that it will support unrated films than more theaters will screen them and more filmmakers will be free to create the art they want to instead of worrying what a bunch of bureaucrats think is appropriate for you to watch.

But I’m sidetracking myself into politics once again when what I really want to tell y’all is that Frontier(s) releases on DVD today. If you consider yourself a horror movie fan then you’re going to want to buy - not rent, buy - this film today. Why? Because it’s a great flick that really pushes the limits while allowing you to explore where your boundaries are as well. Oh, and because it’s yet another way for you to show filmmakers what you really want. You see, I misspoke in my previous article about this film. I stated that it was part of the After Dark Film Fest when, in fact, it was slated to be but wasn’t because the filmmakers refused to cut it down to an R rating. So much for cutting edge horror in that series! However, if gore film fans support films like Frontier(s), then festival organizers and series editors will quickly recognize the demand for such products and throw off the chains of the MPAA to finally bring us what we really want.
