With summer upon us here in Northern California and a major trip coming up soon I’ve been trying to explore some different ways for Z and I to enjoy the weather in the great outdoors. Z’s already been to Great America three times in the last 6 weeks, and I can’t afford the gas to Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo nor the cost of our Boardwalk season passes until next payday. Plus I’ve been trying to find a way to get us both some more exercise while enjoying the sun as well.

Then, it finally hit me: beach bikes!

One of the reasons for getting a car that only gets about 10 miles per gallon was because I could easily through the bikes in the back. But, for some reason I’ve never actually done it. I’m thinking that will be a solid plan for this weekend though. We can drive over to Santa Cruz or down to Monterey, hop on the bikes, and see these picturesque locations in ways neither of us ever have before. One of the best days we’ve had in the past involved wandering around Monterey on foot, and Z’s been riding her bike more often of late, so this seems absolutely perfect.
