Finally, A Watch That Meets All My Needs AND Desires

As someone who has always been time obsessed I was pretty happy with myself when I went watch free a couple of years back. However, when I decided to start going to the gym before work in the mornings I realized I was going to need one again (there’s no clocks in the gym). I spent weeks trying to find one that was water resistant (it would be sitting pool side), had an easily visible face (no glasses while swimming), was highly accurate (there’s that time obsession again), had a chronograph (for timing my exercises), had excellent battery life (there’s nothing worse than your watch stopping at a critical time), and was attractive (I am starting to date again, after all). Long story, short. I couldn’t find one that met all my needs. So I bought a cheap knockoff that’s been more hassle than helper.

But I’ve finally found one! Its full name is the Casio GS1100-2A Men’s Waveceptor Analog Multi-Band Atomic G-Shock with Tough Solar Power Strap Chronograph but I just refer to it as the King of Casio watches. This baby has it all-Casio Waveceptor Watch

  • Water Resistant to 200m
  • Neo-brite luminous hands and markers that are large and distinct from each othe making it easy to read even without my glasses.
  • Multi-Band Atomic Timekeeping - meaning that it automatically adjusts the time based on a signal sent from the Fort Collins, Colorado atomic clock. This happens up to six times per day. And should I travel it works all over the US, as well as in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan.
  • 1/20 second chronograph
  • Solar Powered - It stores energy from any type of light (sunlight to fluorescent) to keep the watch running. Even if the battery charge runs out, it is fully rechargeable. Plus it has an approximate battery life of 5 months on full charge (even without further exposure to light).
