I started a new blog a couple of months ago dedicated to happenings in the small town in which I live and work. While Google’s fully aware of it I’ve been looking for inexpensive yet effective ways to get the word out locally. A friendly local businessman had the same issues a while back, so I asked him for his advice.
“Two words,” he said to me in his best impression of the Oracle of Delphi, “car magnets.”
After checking a few local sign makers I turned to my favorite online printer: VistaPrint. I’ve written about VistaPrint’s services in the past and knew they had great prices on postcards, business cards and rubber stamps. But I couldn’t recall whether they offered these over sized car magnets as well. Of course they do! And, as always, they’ve got mighty competitive prices as well - starting at less then ten bucks.
If you’ve got a small business (online or off) of interest to your neighbors then why not make running your errands around town a little more profitable by advertising your business at the same time? Most businesses will only require one additional sale to earn back the money you’ll spend on the sign and since it’s magnetic you can always remove it should you need the car to look nice and shiny for a special event.
