Alvin Gets Creamed In Super Bowl 2008 Ads

Yesterday was the big day - Super Bowl Sunday. The day that all Americans set aside to gather their friends, order pizza, stock up on beer and circle the wide screen TV to partake in that all-American pastime - the new Super Bowl television commercials! I’ve never been a football fan (or a fan of Alvin and his Chipmunk brethren, but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate a good Super Bowl commercial -

Okay, so it’s not actually Alvin himself getting creamed (or even a Chipmunk for that matter), but it still reminded me of them and gave me a warm fuzzy feeling.
This was probably compounded by having to listen to all of the Chipmunk related ringtones that have been appearing on cell phones lately thanks to PlayPhone. With hundreds of ringtones, games, video tones, wallpapers and widgets available at PlayPhone I’m hoping this ad will help encourage others to bypass the ‘munks and go for some real quality. Why not delve into the Cartoon Network selection for classics such as The PowerPuff Girls, or even Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends? Heck, they’ve got The Simpsons, Transformers, and even Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. Why, oh why, do people insist on going with Alvin & The Chipmunks?
