BlogRush - The Widget That Wouldn’t Die

Part of the Adventures In BlogRushing Series - Previous in series
Well, it’s been almost two months since I last wrote about Blogrush, but it seems the story is not over yet. Check out these two screenshots from Clicky (my web analytics program)-

They clearly show that despite my removing the widget, requesting removal, mocking them incessantly and, finally, being kicked out of the program, BlogRush is still listing Philaahzophy in their widget and even sending me the occasional traffic…

Let The Games Begin! Iowa Caucus 85%-97% In
Posted on January 3, 2008 - Filed Under Vote 2008 | Leave a Comment
The first actual contest in the Presidential race has just about concluded. The Republican results are rather predictable with 85% of precincts reporting-
- Mike Huckabee - 34%
- Mitt Romney - 25%
- Fred Thompson -14%
- John McCain - 13%
- Ron Paul - 10%
- Rudy Giuliani - 4%
- Duncan Hunter - 0%
The Democratic side, however, was shocking (at least to me) with 97% of precincts reporting-
- Barack Obama - 38%
- John Edwards - 30%
- Hillary Clinton - 29%
- Richardson - 2%
- Joe Biden - 1%
- Chris Dodd - 0%
- Mike Gravel -0%
- Dennis Kucinich - 0%
There’s still…

New Year’s Eve Proposal Surprise?
Posted on January 3, 2008 - Filed Under Shopping | Leave a Comment
New Year’s Eve is one of the most common nights for wedding proposals. Not too surprising when one considers the weight we as Americans put on new year’s resolutions, changing with the calendar, etc. frankly, I’ve never been a big adherent to the theory that a new digit at the end of the date means its time to change my life, but clearly I’m in the minority as wedding and engagement announcements seem to be poring into my email box…

Part of the Yuwie Series - Previous in series Next in series
I’ve been looking forward to this post since New Year’s Eve! I surpassed 2,500 members in my Yuwie referral tree this afternoon thanks, in part, to a couple of my readers here at Philaahzophy. You can see my 10 level referral tree at left, but hitting 2,500 was actually pretty inevitable given the growth of Yuwie
What was even more exciting than crossing that threshold was seeing that one…

Fox Affiliate Points Out Fox Censorship Of Dr. Ron Paul
Posted on January 2, 2008 - Filed Under Vote 2008 | Leave a Comment
A giant huzzah has to go out to television station KPTM in Omaha, NE for running the following news segment-
via videosift.com
The segment details how Fox News and the New Hampshire Republican Committe has neglected to invite Ron Paul to the New Hampshire Forum on January 6th, despite his polling higher than Thompson who was invited. The Paul campaign would just like an explanation of why they were not invited, but Fox News isn’t talking. Bravo to the news staff at KPTM for…

Confusion Reigns As Dow Has Worst First Day Ever
Posted on January 2, 2008 - Filed Under Education, Personal Finance | 1 Comment
According to MSNBC the Dow Jones Industrial Average had its worst first day of the year, ever today. Oil spiked 4% to $100 per barrel and the Dow dropped around 220 points. Meanwhile, silver prices (where I’m currently investing) barely increased. As a novice investor, none of this makes sense to me. I can read the news reports, I can do the math, but I’m simply failing to see the correlations. I need to take some economics classes, but that’s…
