According to Reuters, things are even worse in Israel-

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - An Israeli judge has ordered the country’s prison authority to pay an inmate over $1,000 in compensation after he complained of having to share a cell with cockroaches.

Mordechai Yehudai filed a lawsuit complaining of poor hygiene, a lack of fresh air, broken windows and inmates who smoke in a handful of cells, a spokeswoman for the Israel Prisons Service said

“The Prisons Service mistreated the plaintiff in a number of…

Part of the Yuwie Series - Previous in series         Next in series

I haven’t written about Yuwie lately, but this week’s announcement is an excellent reason to do so. They just announced their highest RSR (Revenue Sharing Rate) to date - $0.54! That’s more than 50% higher than last month’s $0.35 (which was their lowest thus far). The RSR is the amount that Yuwie pays out for each 1000 page views. The RSR is then divided amongst the 10 people in…

Reason #817 That I Absolutely Love My Boss

Posted on December 14, 2007 - Filed Under Aahz, Personal Finance | Leave a Comment

Well, perhaps it was more carma then Karma after all. My boss was able to come through for me with the cash I needed to get Rover fixed today. Woo Hoo!! That means I will still manage to survive this month without having to search around for multiple Payday loans. This is just another of the long list of benefits that comes with working for a very small business (even if most of the funding does come by way of the government).…

A couple of days ago my new image host, ShareAPic, asked “What do you want us to develop next?” As much as I love getting paid to allow them to host my images, they’ve still got a long way to go. Here’s my Top 10 list-

  1. Allow captions for images. Not only does this make the entire site more friendly to visitors, but these could also be used as the ALT text on the thumbnails. This would also help Google Image…

Adknowledge - An Affordable PPC Advertsing Alternative To Adsense

Posted on December 14, 2007 - Filed Under Blogging, Business | Leave a Comment

A large portion of the blogosphere (as well as many non-blogging readers) are pretty fed up with Google lately. Many bloggers and webmasters have removed the Adsense ads from their sites and replaced them with alternative ad suppliers. Which means if you’re paying for PPC through Adsense then you’re not getting the same reach you once were. And if you’re fed up with Google then you’re probably looking for a new PPC advertising broker anyway.

Well, today I just discovered Adknowledge.…

Karma Strikes (Or Is That Carma?)

About three weeks ago the brakes on my ‘89 Ford Bronco (affectionately named Rover) started making noises to let me know they needed some work. I’ve had other noisy brakes in the past and figured I could make it to payday, which is the 19th - next Wednesday. I was wrong

This morning while running the kids to school the brakes started grabbing and pulling my off course. I returned home convinced that I’d need to take it in to…
