Z’s snow obsession is evidencing itself again as the weather has finally turned cold here in Northern California and it occurs to me that it was at about her age that I first learned how to snow ski. Of course, I wasn’t able to learn at anyplace as wonderful as a Courchevel chalet in France, but I’d certainly love to try the sport again in such an amazingly beautiful setting. Courcheval is part of the 3 Valleys, which is larger than the 6 largest US ski resorts combined and home to the Grand Couloir which is the steepest marked ski run in Europe with an amazing 40 degree slope! But even if you’re not bold enough for such an adventure, Courcheval is home toa total of 86 different ski runs served by 63 lifts. That’s a whole lot of snow. And non-skiers shouldn’t feel left out as a full quarter of visitors have no intention of skiing, so there are plenty of other activities for you as well.
