Part of the Relacore Experiment Series -         Next in series

One of my long term goals is to get down to about 200 pounds. I’ve actually dropped 10-15 with only minor adjustments (not eating before bed, moving around more throughout the day, getting good sleep), but seem to be stuck between 235 & 240 pounds. Sure, I still haven’t managed to activate the gym membership and start the actual exercise routine, and I’m still far from eating healthy, but I was making some progress and that’s come to a stand still for whatever reason. So last night I find myself in the local drug store and I’m looking around for something to ease the pain in my teeth and jaw. Couldn’t find what I was looking for, but there was a huge section containing all the “diet pills” I’ve seen advertised on TV for the last several years.

I’m NOT a fan of pills. Americans are way to dependent on their “medicines” and I’ve been adamantly opposed to taking all drugs (legal and otherwise) most of my life. It’s only been in the last few years that I’ve even been willing to take ibuprofen and acetaminophen. So what was I doing staring at an aisle full of diet pills? Well, I was wondering … and pondering … and curious. At this point I’m not going to be able to get the actual exercise program going until January, so this seems like a worthy time to do a little experiment….

My modified habits have dropped some weight but seem to have stalled, I’m not going to be making any other changes for at least a month so don’t expect my weight to drop any further in that time. Seems like the perfect opportunity to get some first hand knowledge of how these “wonder drugs” will work on me as an individual. So, I dropped $30 on a 110 count bottle of Relacore. Why Relacore? Well, I’m obviously familiar with their ads, I’ve never heard of any really negative effects of short term usage, and the box just read really well. Possible side effects include: “acne, hair loss, hair growth on the face, aggressiveness, irritability, and increased levels of estrogen.” I’ve already got four of those six symptoms so I’m not too stressed about the side effects. I’m supposed to take 6 pills a day, so this bottle should last me until New Year’s Eve. It all just seemed to fit too perfectly to not do the experiment. Obviously I’ll do my best to keep y’all informed of the progress (if any), but a little nudge here and there is always welcome as well. If this doesn’t work I’ve got a friend undergoing mesothelioma treatment and the pounds are literally pouring off him
