Turkey Day Not Good For Long Term Goals

Today’s “feast” was the first holiday in my life when I was actually concerned about my weight. I think I held up pretty well. I avoided the appetizers other than a few pickles and some raw broccoli. I skipped out before the pie was served. And I managed to take relatively moderate portions of everything else available. Still manage to have both turkey and ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing and green bean casserole. It didn’t look like too much sitting on my plate, but I sure felt full afterwards. Having not actually felt full since dedicating myself to lose 50 pounds a few weeks back I must say it was a good feeling. The fact that it only lasted about 15 minutes tells me that I still didn’t really overdo it. Still, I’m glad I’ll finally be able to join the gym come Monday where I can take advantage of their treadmill to save some wear and tear on my knees and feet from all the street walking I’ve been doing. I was down about 6 pounds (238#) as of yesterday afternoon, and I’m waiting for things to digest a bit more before weighing myself again.
