Luther Sales is one of a myriad of web stores looking to sell you just about anything you need. They offer everything from jewelry to appliances and home electronics to furniture on credit. I encourage you to browse the thousands of products they have available, but I’d like to take a few minutes to share their innovative credit offers, which they call LutherCharge. They’re really focused on serving the military and government markets. This focus is evident in the number of ’support our troops’ programs they participate in and promote on their website. But the really interesting manifestation is on their LutherCredit page outlying the different payment options Luther Sales offers to its customers.
In addition to their standard credit offer of 25% “member” discount for orders paid in full within 90 days of delivery, and ACH / electronic debit options they’ve got three special programs-
- Active Duty or Retired Military Personnel may use DD Form #2258 (Authorization to start, stop, or change an allotment for Active Duty or Retired Personnel). Normally used as part of a soldier’s family care plan it can now be used to buy furniture or the latest gadgets as well.
- Social Security Administration employees may use Direct Deposit Form #1199A (available thanks to the Employees’ Activities Association) to have their payments pulled from their paychecks in the same way they can have their paychecks directly deposited to their bank accounts.
- Federal Civilian (Non SSA), DC Government & Private Sector Employees may also use Direct Deposit Form #1199A to have their payments withdrawn from their checks before they have the opportunity to spend it elsewhere and thus miss a payment.
