Spock’s In Search Of You!

Search engines come and search engines go, but every now and then, something truly innovating shows up on the internet’s horizon. Spock bills itself as “It’s About People” and I can’t think of a more accurate tagline. Instead of being a web page search engine (like Google or Yahoo!) or even a blog search engine (like Technorati), Spock is a people search engine! Wait, don’t go away thinking this is simply the latest “find your lost love” site, because that’s not…

Looking For Lasik

Going on more road trips into unfamiliar territory and playing disc golf may seem to be fairly disparate activities to the casual observer. But they’ve both weighed heavily in the recent understanding that my eyes simply aren’t pulling their weight these days. I got my first pair of glasses in like second or third grade. Since then my eyes have gotten progressively worse and at this point even with my glasses my eyes are still pretty darn bad. I last…

Aahz Takes 5th (sort of) At Palm Disc Golf Tournament

This past weekend Z and I played in the fourth Palm Disc Golf Tournament in Milpitas. This tourney is a little bit different than a standard PDGA sanctioned tournament in that it’s a “target” course instead of a “basket” course. Since the course was created in and around an office complex there are no hole baskets available and instead the “holes” include such things as ‘land on the bench/sewer grate/etc’ or ‘hit the light post/tree/fire hydrant/door/etc’. They actually ran two courses…

Solution To One Of My Cookie Problems

Earlier this month I shared the difficulty Z and I had in trying to bake green peanut butter chocolate chip cookies for her Girl Scout Troop. Our recipe seemed simple enough: peanut butter cookie dough mix (store bought), 2 eggs, butter, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and green food coloring. We had two major problems - 1) we couldn’t get the “dough balls” the right size and shape to form normal looking cookies, and 2) it took three tries to get the…

No More Excuses - Yuwie Is Paying Out

Part of the Yuwie Series - Previous in series         Next in series

I’ve been talking up Yuwie for the past couple of months and am now even more convinced that it is the single online earning opportunity that is a perfect fit for everyone online. Over the last few days Yuwie has passed the second to last hurdle in getting a perfect score from me: they’ve started paying out successfully (and on time). The final hurdle is paying me, but I…

Winter Means Longer Showers

Posted on October 30, 2007 - Filed Under Shopping | Leave a Comment

If there’s anything worse in the world then having to wake up early in the morning, it’s having to wake up early on a cold morning. That’s what I’ve been doing lately as I’ve taken over responsibility for getting my daughter (and her little brother) to school on time each day. We can’t afford to keep our house heated overnight and the timer on our thermostat refuses to work, so this all ads up to one simple conclusion: longer, hotter showers…
