A couple of months ago Rover (my beloved vehicle) decided that it would no longer start with the key like a normal car. Instead I had to jump it at the solenoid every time I wanted to get it goin’. Obviously with fall upon us, and the rain this brings, the situation was getting more and more uncomfortable each day. The problem was that in order to fix it I’d have to take apart the entire steering column which is a job WAY beyond my technical skill. So I visited a few shops, but the lowest quote I could get for parts and labor was over $800. Normally I buy my parts either at a junkyard or a local parts auto shop, but I’ve never pulled a steering wheel before, so again, the junkyard was out of my league and the local shops didn’t carry parts for a vehicle as old as mine.
Grumbling to a friend he recommended I find the parts online and then I’d only need to pay the labor cost. He found oem acura parts at DriveWire.com and saved a bundle over what it would have cost him at the local parts car shop. So, I checked them out and was able to save more than a couple of hundred dollars myself on the parts I needed for the Bronco.
