I don’t drink alcohol. It’s not a religious thing, and I’m not “in recovery”, I’ve just never been a fan of either the taste or the affects of alcohol consumption. That’s not to say that I’ve never had a drink (or even that I’ve never been drunk), rather that I simply don’t drink. Since moving to Morgan Hill two years ago I’ve had 1/2 of one beer. That was because Z and I were trying out a new restaurant and they had chocolate beer on the menu. Chocolate beer? I had to try it. It was good, but still had too much of a beer aftertaste to buy more in the future. In the two or three years before moving here I had a total of about 3 drinks a year. I was working in the performance poetry world, our events were in bars, and various people would occasionally buy me a drink to celebrate one thing or another. It’s often better business to just accept the drink then to possibly offend by going non-alcoholic. In those cases I would drink tequila.
I’m not talking about Jose Cuervo, but good tequila - 100% blue agave sipping tequila. And that’s what The Tequila Guy talks about as well. Apparently there is a “Tequila Renaissance” under way, and I’m missing out. If you’ve ever wanted to know more about tequila, or are a connoisseur yourself, then The Tequila Guy is a site you must bookmark. He keeps up on all the latest tequila news and developments, posts tequila recipes, and has reviews for literally hundreds of 100% blue agave tequila tequilas. If there’s anything that’s not on his site, he even encourages readers to send in their questions. What more could a tequila drinker ask for?
