Confessions Of A Closet Decorator

No, I don’t decorate closets. But few people suspect that I’m such a fan of interior decorating. I just get these urges sometimes to totally redo a room (or my entire home) and go a bit hog wild. My past roommates have all had the experience of coming home from a weekend away only to discover an entirely different home upon their return. I presume it’s a manifestation of my wanderlust. When I can’t actually move I entirely change my environment instead.

With no actual training, or awareness of designers or “styles”, I’ve always just kind of winged it, doing what seemed right at the moment. Occasionally, this has led to some “decorating disasters” that didn’t last more than a week or two. This is no longer a problem thanks to a great interior decorating site I recently discovered.

MyInteriorDecorator.com has a huge selection of home decorating articles; an interior design bookstore; a store chock full of furniture, lamps, rugs, window treatments, accessories, bedding, wallpaper, and more; and an amazing weekly decorating ideas newsletter.

I would live to be able to change the appearance of my home frequently, however, all changes take money.
