Have I mentioned how much I love the internet? Every day it brings me new examples of how the market will rise up to fill a need (even in the face of massive government regulations!).
I hate cellphones almost as much as I love the internet. One of the main reasons is the ridiculous contracts that most major providers require you to sign just to get service (and don’t give me that “free phone” garbage, either - just try getting service without purchasing a phone sometime!). I should have known the market would have a solution for this problem, and it does: Cellswapper.
If you’re stuck in a cellular phone contract you no longer want you simply go to Cellswapper.com and list what you pay, what you get, and how long is left on the contract. People looking to avoid activation fees (or just have a shorter contract themselves) browse the site and if they like what you have to offer they’ll get in touch with you.
Your total cost: $14.95 if you pay up front, $18.95 if you wait until you have an interested party. Compared to the several hundred dollars most companies charge in early cancellation fees this is a huge bargain! If you’re looking to pick up someone else’s contract there is no cost to you! And most people will throw in the phone itself as well.
As y’all know, I recently got rid of my leash.. er… cellphone. But it would be nice to have one when doing a lot of travelling. I had considered getting a prepaid once I’m able to travel again, but now I think I’ll just visit CellSwapper and pick up a 1 month contract on the cheap!
