Since joining PayPerPost in late July I’ve been debating whether or not attending PostieCon would be a good idea. I’m sure it will be highly educational as well as the perfect networking opportunity. But I’m just crawling out of a period of extreme poverty due to unemployment and am not sure it makes financial sense.
Yesterday, however, I saw an ad noting that PostieCon attendees will receive early adopter keys to the new Argus system that PPP has been working on. I was instantly sold and headed over to PostieCon.com to register (for free, BTW). Everything went smoothly with my registration, until I saw the final confirmation page. It contains a half dozen badges attendees can use to advertise the event-
- Did Somebody Say Tequila Shots? PostieCon Las Vegas, NV November 10, 2007
- I’m Stalking Britt at PostieCon Las Vegas, NV November 10, 2007
- Meet Me At The Open Bar PostieCon
- Is Ted Naked Again? PostieCon Las Vegas, NV
- Let’s Do This! PostieCon Las Vegas, NV
- See You At PostieCon Las Vegas, NV
Is this really how the Sponsored Review community wants to be seen by the world? As drunken, naked stalkers? Because that’s certainly not how I see myself and I’m not sure that’s the type of business conference I want to spend my money to attend.
I can’t afford to attend both BlogWorld and PostieCon, so was leaning towards the latter since it was free. But if it’s just going to be a drunken orgy, I’d probably be better off either saving the cost all together or attending the last day of BlogWorld, staying the night and just grabbing my Argus early adopter key first thing in the morning when the staff is hopefully still sober.
