HaloScan is really starting to irritate me. For those that are unaware, HaloScan provides a free, easy to use commenting and trackback service for weblogs and websites, allowing visitors to leave feedback, share their opinion, or comment on the subject at hand.? Apparently, more than 100,000 people have signed up for their services, though I’m not really sure why.? These are pretty standard items in blogging software.? Sure, Blogger doesn’t have trackback functionality, but wouldn’t you be better off just moving to a better platform then installing this software?
By now you’re surely wondering what my problem with HaloScan actually is.? Pretty simple actually… When I get an email notifying me that there’s another comment on a post I previously posted on, the link takes me to a page at haloscan that just contains the comments, as opposed to the actual blog post.? There’s not even a link back to the original post.? It drives me nuts!
