Today, nobody sees, or wishes to see, that in our time the enslavement of the majority of men is based on money taxes, levied on land and otherwise, which are collected by government from the subjects. »» Leo Tolstoy

As an anarchist I’m always seeking ways to take the government out of my everyday life. It’s most common intrusion has to be in the form of money. Not just theft through taxes, but in the fact that I’m limited to using their fiat currency with no legitimate backing for the majority of my financial transactions. While I’m not well educated in economics, I’ve been trying to learn more and more about economic alternatives, private currencies, etc. It’s occurred to me that there are numerous worlds populated on the internet that have their own economic systems and studying how they interact may hel psolve the riddle in the real world.

Enter Mudflation.com a site which allows you to Compare WOW Gold Sellers as well as those for Dark Age Of Camelot, EVE online, EverQuest, EverQuest II, Final Fantasy XI, Guild Wars, Lineage II, Lord of the Rings, RuneScape II, SilkRoad Online, Star Wars Galaxies, and Vanguard - Saga of Heroes. Unlike other services of this type, Mudflation scrapes the game server in real time and shows the prices several websites are bidding for specific currencies.

If you play World of Warcraft (or any of the other online games listed) you can see easily see the benefits of the service to you. But even if you’re just interested in how a free currency market operates there are many gems to be (data)mined from a site such as this. As the games rise and fall in popularity their currency fluctuates as well. Each new expansion or major advertising push will have an effect on the world’s economy as well, not to mention that fluctuations of our real-world economy will effect how much free cash real people have to spend buying virtual currencies. It’s truly gold mine for any alternative economics researcher. With the right research it would even be possible to take advantage of arbitrage opportunities and generate some serious real world cash as well.
